The Summer of Snus

… was probably last year. There’s not a lot going on this summer, so I’ll even follow up on a new Camel rumor.

Last week, I heard over at snuscentral that Camel Winterchill and Camel Robust were being released any day. On Saturday I stopped by a gas station near my house that carries Camel to see if it was there. No. Oh well. I didn’t bother looking anywhere else.I figure I’ll run into it eventually. I’m a little curious if Robust is the old Original from the trial. That wasn’t too nasty…

I did however stop by Spec’s (a liquor superstore) to check on their General fridge. I’d heard they were no longer carrying it, and wanted to see for myself. I found the fridge. Inside was one tin of General Loose. Seems to me that that means they sold at least 49 tins of snus. Don’t know how long they had it though. Makes me wonder about the other four Spec’s around these parts. More investigation later…

Anyway, while I was there I got try some cool local rum. It’s called Treaty Oak, and it was quite good.

Update:

Nearly forgot… the Senecas got a ruling on PACT. Basically, the mail ban stands, but they don’t have to collect taxes for now. But people who order from them are still responsible for the taxes. This will probably take years to ultimately settle.
