Snus News
Well, several things to cover today since I’ve been incommunicado for a few days… First of all, v2 has a website for their Thunder Test, which we talked about a few days ago. Apparently one lucky test subject will win a trip to a place in Denmark called Legoland. I’m pretty certain that I’m going to win, so don’t bother ordering any. Anyway, the v2 dudes have said that the flavor is 5 shades of “original,” which makes me think that they may be in the market to change their Thunder Original… I could be mistaken. But why else would they run this test? Perhaps they’re flush on frequent flyer miles or accidentally left the Thunder Machine on overnight.
Also on the web, SnusOn.com has gotten an upgrade today. It now redirects to snusforum.org. Looks like it has many more features, but it’s a little confusing to navigate. I’m sure I’ll figure out… someday.
A weird little new snus is out from the makers of Oomph. It’s called Iceland Volcano snus, but for simplicity’s sake I’ll call it Eyjafjallajökull snus. At the moment, you can only get Eyjafjallajökull snus with a roll of Oomph. Too bad. I’d like to try Eyjafjallajökull snus, but I’ve already got several dozen tins of Oomph stocked up. Perhaps they’ll do a regular run. Maybe not… C’est la vie. Check it out here.
In other mini snus news, the new Catch should be coming any day now, unless they changed the schedule. The guess is that it’s Elder Lime, which sounds kind of nasty. Could be good though… Check out the pics here.
And finally, it looks like Swedish Match will be spinning off it’s cigar business. The two questions that concern us — that I can think of — are: 1) Will General Cigar still distribute General Snus in the U.S. and 2) what will happens with GetSnus.com?
My guesses are 1) yes and 2) nothing will change… The deal is expected to be completed in the third quarter of this year (July to September), so we may need to wait for the answers.
XOXO
