New Texas Tobacco Taxes Due
Today is the due date for the first round of ultra-high smokeless tobacco taxes in Texas. Let’s hope that consumers said a hearty, “Go fuck yourselves” to the state legislature and found ways to legally avoid the tax.
Since the beginning of September, smokeless tobacco in Texas has been taxed at least $1.32 per tin. The rate will grow over the next several years to at least $1.47 per tin.
This money will allegedly be used to pay off the student loans of doctors who practice in remote areas of the state, collectively known as butt-fuck Texas.
