That’s good to know. Next time, I’ll give your boat a try. Lack of snus isn’t my only reason to go to Stockholm. I also want to do some snus-related tourism there (and maybe some non-snus-related tourism, if I can find the time).

Hi!

Interesting blog about snus. I am from Sweden but have been in the US for a month and am a little surprised about how big snus has become over there. Just thought I would give a few hints for buying snus in Sweden. First of all I would probably not be flying to Stockholm but take the Stena cruise ship from Kiel to Gothenburg (I dont love flying and on the ship you can bring as much as you want). They have a few shops there selling snus at gross prices (I normally buy at Snuslagret but there are more options if you google). 10 cans of Kaliber White Portion costs about 160 SEK, which brings economy even to my own high consumtion. The higher quality brands like General and G-Rape are cheaper too (dont know exact prices cos I rarely buy them)

You are lucky to have “that much” snus. At the moment I have one tin in my pocket and another in the fridge. Waiting to receive three new tins next week.

Even if I lived in Sweden for a few years, I never managed to visit Stockholm. But I can suggest Snusbutiken, I think it’s called. Swedish Match’s own snus store.

I’ll have to try that once I move out of this hotel in the next week or so. When I ordered a few days ago, I saw General US on the list and picked up a couple rolls… now it’s gone. Should arrive any time… I hope.

Hi, I live in Holland and I thought I had made my last possible snus order, about half a year ago. So I started looking up snus recipes on the web and was even looking at ways of growing my own tobacco.

Anyway…, then I discovered that The Northener had found a loophole. They ship from Norway. Norway is not a member state of the EU but it is in the European Economic Area, so no surprise taxes. And as they ship only Norse snus to the EU, I am stuck with a nice collection of Thunder Extra Stark.

German customs is a joke! I had zero issues when I lived there with getting anything via the US or Sweden. I always had people write down Swedish Portions, or hockey pucks on the customs declaration when they mailed stuff to me. Look into Ryanair flights to Sweden to re-stock.

I know that pain. In Australia, where I live now, it is illegal to sell snus, but you can legally import it for personal use. On top of that, they have a 50g limit, everything above you have to pay a very nasty custom tariff.

Enjoy living in Europe! Hope to return in a few years.
